There is no doubt that fried chicken is one of my favorite foods. Whether it’s in the form of a sandwich, popcorn bites or goujons, crunchy goodies are my first choice. So when it comes to Butchies, just go and see what this place is all about, especially when their Korean kimchi and honey wings won the coveted Wings Festival.
Judging from various posts and word of mouth, Butchies is a highly recommended chicken joint, but at the same time I found it a bit frustrating for the following reasons.
There is no doubt that Butchies cooks their chicken very well. Two simple ways to complete. They first use only free-range chicken and marinate it in buttermilk for 12 hours, and then coat it with a mixture of flour, herbs and spices. Immediately after the pressure cooker retain all important moisture and flavor, then deep fry the last layer.
Of course this is delicious. This method ensures the highest quality chicken every time, but unfortunately it does not reach the final hurdle. This is a piece of chicken with a crispy and crispy skin, a secret sauce that is a bit sneaky, but it lacks the most important salt, especially its original burger. Even the garlic herb mayonnaise sauce will not save you. Most importantly, Butchies Cheesy Fries did not reach the bottom of the net. Unfortunately, the cheese went to the bottom of the cup instead of sticking to the humble fries.
Where are the award-winning honey kimchi wings? Well, they weren’t available at the time.
Though it doesn’t hurt, Jenny from the block has a good point. This is where Butches stands out. This is a fried chicken sandwich, everyone should order a delicious fried drumstick with a big chunk of creamy guacamole, crispy pork belly, and hearty jalapeño mayo. This is a sandwich beast and deserves high praise.
Butchies is regarded as the best fried chicken in London, but I am not the only one who thinks that small details make it incomparable to other fried chicken restaurants as a shame.
There is still some work to be done in this place, if they improve the seasoning and work on both sides, then hope that Butchies can almost become the first champion in the gang. The whole idea of
FoodPunk is to showcase the amazing food that London has to offer, whether it’s going to various restaurants, eating in a food market, or even looking for some hidden gems in the center of the city. Regardless of its appearance and taste, I want to yell, get people involved, eat some delicious food, and learn about some interesting places.
